Dr. Leslie Morrison Faerstein is a Nonprofit Expert of Integral Board Group, LLC and has a long history in nonprofit administration. She was the first Executive Director of Musicians on Call, an organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. In her nearly 14 years leading the organization, she grew the organization from one program in New York to 50 weekly Bedside Performance Programs in New York, Philadelphia, Nashville, Miami, Washington DC and Los Angeles. Over 400,000 individuals have been touched by music in their hospital rooms. In recognition of Dr. Faerstein’s work in developing and leading Musicians on Call, the group’s Board of Directors awarded her the honorary title of Executive Director Emerita. Dr. Faerstein worked at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in Pediatric Neurology as a social worker completing the quantitative study for her doctoral dissertation there. She founded and served as the Executive Director of a New York State licensed, nonprofit mental health clinic in Brooklyn specializing in eating disorders and women’s issues. Dr. Faerstein was instrumental in creating the Federation of Mental Health Centers Managed Care Organization and served as its CEO. In addition to a private psychotherapy practice, she worked as a healthcare consultant. Dr. Faerstein received her undergraduate degree from Beloit College in Wisconsin, completed her Master of Science in Social Work from the Columbia University School of Social Work and her doctorate in Family and Community Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Faerstein also has numerous media appearances and has received formal media training.
